charroux

Charroux was built in the 13th century, and is considered one of the most beautiful villages in France. Only 28 km from Vichy, Charroux is located at the edge of Central Massive, situated on a limestone plateau, and has a beautiful view of the rural Auvergne. In summer, the stony village is quite hot, so many enjoy sitting in one of small restaurants in the shade with cold drinks. If you would like to visit the exclusive star restaurants «Les Délices du Prince» and «La Ferme Saint-Sébastien», it is recommended to reserve in advance. Charroux is known for its exceptionally delicious mustard and saffron. A visit to «Maison des Horloges» is a must.
